| Nikos Kazantzakis Airport has frequent flights to Athens, Rhodes, Santorini and Thessaloniki. There are also many charter flights from cities throughout Europe as well as scheduled flights. |

| BUS |
| There are plenty of bus services to destinations all over Crete including frequent services to Rethymno, Chania and Agios Nikolaos. There are two bus stations in Heraklion. Bus Station A is located near the port and most travellers find this the handiest for destinations to Rethymno, Chania and to the archaeological ruins at Knossos. Bus Station B is located west of the city centre. |

| FERRY |
Ferries arrive at the port right near the centre of the old town. There are daily trips to Piraeus port in Athens as well as to Rhodes, Santorini, Paros, Naxos and Thessaloniki.
